A Burdened History Hoping for a Bright Future

Gualapuro is an indigenous community located in the mountains of Ecuador about two hours away from the country's capital, Quito. This community has experienced extreme political marginalization and was unable to gain approval from the local government to establish a working water system for over 30 years. However, within the past few years, major progress has been made. Even so, there is work that still needs to be accomplished in order to provide clean drinking water to these families and that is where financial assistance is crucial.
